PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL PLAYER TRAINS WITH E3SPORTS
Mike Dunleavy Jr. Spends Off-Season Improving Movement Patterns
New York, NY– Nov. 2010 — Mike Dunleavy Jr. of the Indiana Pacers recently completed a four month functional training program with E3Sports Co-Founder and Performance Specialist, Andrew FitzGerald. Dunleavy underwent knee surgery two years ago and endured an offseason of physical therapy as he prepared for last season. It resulted in an on court performance that he was not happy with and left him with a burning desire to have his best season ever.
He got in touch with E3Sports to help him achieve his goals for this season. Recently, E3Sports had a chance to catch up with Mike after his record setting performance against the Denver Nuggets when he scored 24 points in the third quarter alone (shooting a perfect 7 for 7 from the field) en route to a season high 31 point effort.
E3: What were your goals going into the off-season?
MD: My goals were to improve overall strength, flexibility and power in my legs.
E3: How did you hear about E3Sports?
MD: I heard about E3 through my strength and conditioning coach with the Indiana Pacers, Shawn Windle.
E3: How did E3Sports help you get in shape for this season?
MD: E3Sports got my body in great shape through a combination of exercises that improved balance, speed, stability, strength and conditioning.
E3: As a professional athlete what advice could you give student-athletes about
the importance of training and staying focused?
MD: The most important part of training is consistency. In order to see results, you must train week in and week out.
E3: How did it feel to not miss a shot and score 24 points in 1 quarter against the Denver Nuggets?
MD: It felt very satisfying. You always set out for perfection in basketball but rarely are you able to achieve it.
